The Portland Trailblazers, with all of their youth and energy, finally got their first win, slipping past the New Orleans Hornets 93-90 at Portland.? The win by Portland helped them avoid going 0-4.? Noether team shot especially well, with New Orleans shooting only 39% from the floor with forward Peja Stojakovic going only 2-for-13 and reserve guard Bobby Jackson going only 3-for-11 for the night.
Portland was led by both forward Martell Webster and reserve guard Jarrett Jack, each scoring 20 points, with guard Brandon Roy adding 17.? New Orleans’ leading scorer was forward Doug West with 34 points in a losing cause, with point guard Chris Paul chipping in 18 and 12 assists.? Portland (1-3) next hosts Memphis on Friday night while New Orleans (4-1) returns home to host the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, also on Friday.
