You know things are going bad for the Washington Wizards when the Denver Nuggets (their opponent tonight) miss three alley-oops plays in one quarter yet still crush them in their own backyard.? Not to mention being booed off their own court at the end of 3 periods. Long story short - the Nuggets crushed the Wizards 118-92 at Washington.
Both teams were fairly sloppy with their play early in the 2nd quarter before Denver took over.? Swingman Linas Kleiza drained two 3-pointers in a 12-2 run, giving the Nuggets a double-digit lead they would never relinquish.? Denver had seven players in double-figures with their high scorer being forward Carmelo Anthony with 32 points, with guard J.R. Smith adding 16 from off the bench and guard Allen Iverson chipping in 15.? Center Marcus Camby?grabbed 12?rebounds.
Washington was led by forward Caron Butler with 21 points.? Guard Gilbert Arenas, still trying to recover fully from knee surgery, added 18 and forward Antawn Jamison chipping in 17 and 12 rebounds.? Denver (3-3) plays again on Saturday?when they catch a red-eye tonight to Indianapolis to face the Indiana Pacers, while Washington (0-5) flies to challenge the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.
