Posey Unlikely To Play Friday As Celtics Face Hawks

The Boston Celtics announced that a MRI revealed that Boston’s James Posey has a lumbar herniated disc, and is considered day to day. Posey suffered back spasms during the second quarter of the Celtics’ win over Denver Wednesday night. He had the MRI on Thursday which revealed the source of the discomfort. Celtics’ coach Doc Rivers said that it is unlikely Posey will play Friday night against Atlanta, or Saturday against the New Jersey Nets.
