Tyrus Thomas had a big night Thursday for the Chicago Bulls as Chicago tallied their first victory of the season beating the Detroit Pistons 97-93.??Thomas the second year forward out of LSU had 19 points and 14 rebounds to help the Bulls knock off the Central Division leaders. Four other Chicago players scored in double figures Luol Deng had 17, Ben Gordon 16, veteran Joe Smith added 13 off the bench, and Andres Nocioni had 10.

Rasheed Wallace had a monster night for the Pistons scoring 36 points and grabbing 9 boards but it was not enough for Detroit. Richard Hamilton had 18 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds and Chauncey Billups had 14 points 6 assists and 3 boards as the Pistons suffered their first loss. Detroit now stands at 3-1, while Chicago goes to 1-4.
