LeBron rallies Cleveland past Sacramento 93-91

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James tonight proved why he’s such a clutch player; he scored eight points in the last 2:57 of the game, rallying Cleveland to a 93-91 win over the Sacramento Kings at Arco Arena.? As you would expect, the crowd was pro-LeBron.

Sacramento took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter; guard Kevin Martin’s dunk from a pass from center Brad Miller made the lead for the Kings 78-76 with 6:52 left in the game.? Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas tied the game at 86 with a outback from an offensive rebound then took the lead 88-86 when James grabbed a rebound then ran past 3 Kings for a dunk.? James then proceeded to hit a jumper and then score on a 3-point play, extending the Cavs’ lead to 93-88, but Kings G/F John Salmons converted a 3-point play of his own making the Cavs’ lead 93-91 before Cleveland point guard Damon Jones missed a jumper to give Sacramento one last shot.

The Kings’ Martin missed a jumper from the corner while appearing to have been fouled by Cavaliers?F Drew Gooden, thus sealing the win for Cleveland.? Cleveland were without 4 players in this game – G Larry Hughes (knee), F Donyell Marshall (sprained right wrist), G Eric Snow (sprained left knee) and rookie F Demetrius Nichols (back spasms).

Cleveland was led by the aforementioned James with 26 points, with G Devin Brown adding 20 rebounds and 11 rebounds, while Gooden chipped in 14?and 9 boards.? Sacramento’s high scorer was Martin with 32 points, going 17-for-18 from the free throw line; Salmons and G Francisco Garcia both scored 18 in a losing cause.? Cleveland (3-3) plays again on Sunday when they fly south to face the Los Angeles Clippers, while Sacramento (1-4) stays home to host the winless Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night.
