Great night Friday in the NBA as there were a lot of exciting games, some blowouts, and some nail biters. But after Friday night there remains only one undefeated team in the NBA. I am talking about the most storied franchise in League history, the team you either love or hate; the Boston Celtics who are 4-0 for the first time in 20 years. They travel to New Jersey to take on the 4-1 Nets.

An entire generation 21 years have grown up with the Boston Celtics being just another mediocre to poor team in the NBA. They have no idea that the Celtics won 16 championships in the first 39 years of the NBA’s existence an unbelievable percentage of .410! That dwarfs the Yankees record of 26 World series victories which pales at about .254! It is far too early in the season to say that the Leprechaun is back in the “New Garden”, but that won’t stop Boston fans from feeling giddy!

Two more NBA heavyweights stand toe to toe in Orlando Saturday as the 4-2 Phoenix Suns take on the 5-1 Magic. The addition of Rashard Lewis who has only complimented Hedo Turkoglu in the front court, and Dwight Howard taking it to the next level has been the key for the Magic. Orlando may say they miss Tony Battie, but it does not show it on the court, or in the standings! Steve Nash leads the prolific Suns offense as Shawn Marion, Raja Bell the rejuvenated Grant Hill and Amare Stoudemire always prove a formidable foe.

After 2 lackluster games the Denver Nuggets came alive Friday night as they beat up on the hapless Washington Wizards Friday night as Carmelo scored 32 in a 118-92 rout. The Indiana Pacers meanwhile fell in Charlotte to the Bobcats Friday by a score of 96-87 as Gerald Wallace and Emeka Okafor combined for 51. Indiana right now is at 3-2, while Denver is 3-3, Allen Iverson has been very quiet the last few games. Does he come alive against the Pacers at Canseco?

Carlos Boozer looks like the player that the Utah Jazz signed to that long term contract so far this season. In fact he has looked that way since the playoffs last season. Mr. Double-Double is back as Booz went off again Friday night as the Jazz beat 103-101. Boozer was the key with 27 points and 15 boards, meanwhile the Memphis Grizzlies are looking anemic at 1-3. Damon Stoudamire has started the season at the starting point guard position, unless they turn things around in a hurry that will not last for long.
