Roy’s career-high 32 boosts Trailblazers past Mavericks 91-82

?????????????????????????????????????? Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy?

The Portland Trail Blazers had two things going for them Saturday night – they have last year’s Rookie Of the Year, Brandon Roy and they also stopped a thirteen-game losing streak, as they defeated the Dallas Mavericks 91-82 at the Rose Garden.? That streak was the 4th-worst losing streak against an opponent; the Los Angeles Lakers won 17 straight against the Trail Blazers during their expansion years.

Portland were up 30-22 thanks to center Joel Przybilla’s dunk, but Dallas pulled to within 32-30 on forward Brandon Bass’ jumper.? The Mavericks would never regain the lead from that point on.? Portland’s leading scorer was the aforementioned Roy with 32 points and 7 assists, while forward LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 and F Travis Outlaw chipped in 14 and 10 rebounds from off the bench.

Dallas was led by guard-forward Josh Howard with 20 points with reserve G Jason Terry adding 16; F Dirk Nowitski was quiet most of the night as he only scored 11.? Portland (3-3) hopes to add to their 3-game winning streak when they host the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, while Dallas (4-2) return home to host the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
