Sunday’s NBA Schedule Full of Excitement
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
If you prefer your leather in a spherical shape rather than elliptical, there are plenty of great alternatives on the NBA?floors this Sunday. The first contest on the schedule is a Sunday afternoon contest?featuring two teams that have surprised a lot of observers. The Atlanta Hawks have built a solid nucleus finally after years of basically being the “island of misfit toys.” Yes they had their Shareef Abdur-Rahims, and their Jimmy Jacksons and Joe Johnsons. But the rest of their rosters were flotsam and jetsam. Atlanta has opened a lot of eyes this season even? with a 2-3 record, showing they finally have?started the path upward to respectability. The Washington Wizards were looked at as a possible Eastern Division? champion in the 2007-2008 campaign. They have come out of the gate 0-5 and a lot of that is due to the precarious state of Gilbert Arenas knee. Arenas has had his balky knee drained of fluid?already in the last week or so, but the team is not displaying the chemistry they once had. If Arenas and Caron Butler did not go down before the playoffs Washington would have given Cleveland a much tougher series, and may have won. This team does not have that same feel.
The other team without a victory in the Southeast division is the Miami Heat who are also 0-5. They face off against the New York Knicks Sunday night at MSG. The Knicks are getting nice performances from Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph, and Eddy Curry, and Stephon Marbury so far is playing the good soldier. Despite the controversy dealing with off the court issues leading to the start of the preseason New York has an alright start at 2-2. The Heat miss D-Wade big time and also lack cohesion and chemistry. Pat Riley mixed and matched and struck out. Jason Williams has done an okay job at the point, Ricky Davis has never met a?shot he didn’t like will get you points. Shaq finally looked like himself? in their last game, this team needs more?of that!?
The Cleveland Cavaliers have done nice job on the road trip as they find themselves now at 3-3 and second in the NBA Central Division. They head to the Staples Center to take on the Clippers. These are two teams very similar in a lot of ways watch out for a good back and forth game.
??Rounding out the rest of the schedule the Houston Rockets who look like they are for real travel to Charlotte, while San Antonio hosts?the Milwaukee Bucks. New Orleans in?Philadelphia matches up with the Sixers, while Detroit travels to one of my favorite cities in the USA Seattle to face the Sonics.
