Big Ticket & Yao Named NBA Players Of The Week
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The Boston Celtics have the best record through Monday of any team in the NBA, and the Houston Rockets are tied atop the Western Conference with San Antonio at 6-1. So it seems apropos that the two? players with the most imapct on their respective teams were named Monday as the Eastern and Western Conference NBA players of the week. Kevin Garnett from Boston named from the East and center Yao Ming representing the Western Conference.
Yao averaged 27.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks for the week shooting at a .612 clip from the field and .906 from the line, including making his last 22. The Rockets had a 3-1 record last week, his teammate Tracy McGrady won the award in week?one. Garnett who right now leads the NBA in rebounds with a season average of 15.8 per game helped the Celtics to a 3-0 mark last week. The “Big Ticket” had 22.7 points, 15.3 boards, 6 assists, 2.7 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. Garnett along with teammates Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have at least for now brought back “Celtic Pride” back to New England.

Both of these players are putting up mad numbers nite in, and nite out ~ obviosuly impacting their teams and being that force inside: scoring, defending, rebounding, and passing the rock… Teams/Coaches have nightmares the nite before the game trying to draw up or man up the right play/guy to stop ‘em.
Great to see the Houston Rockets 1-2 punch do so well early on and the C’s to get back to the Glory Days and Dominate with the Dynamic Trio.
Is Garnett the best PF of All-Time?
Is YAO the best Center in the Game?
