Hamilton scores 32, SuperSonics drop to 0-7 losing to Pistons 107-103

The Detroit Pistons got off to a fast start and held off a late charge by the Seattle SuperSonics; as a result, Detroit got past Seattle 107-103. The Supersonics are now 0-7, their worst start in franchise history. Detroit, as previously mentioned, made twelve of their first 15 shots, leading by as much as 17 in the first quarter.
Their lead grew to 23 in the 1st half, but Seattle slowly reduced the lead to 3 early in the 4th quarter when SuperSonics forward Kevin Durant made a layup. Detroit upped the lead to 8 on forward Rasheed Wallace’s 3-pointer with 7:23 left, but Seattle persisted; they scored 11 of the next 16 points to knot up the score at 99 before the Pistons pulled away in the final minutes.
Detroit guard-forward Richard Hamilton led all scorers with 32 points, while F Antonio McDyess and the aforementioned Wallace scored 15 each. Seattle was led by Durant with 19 points, while F Jeff Green added 17 and center Chris Wilcox chipped in 15 and grabbed 9 rebounds. Detroit (5-1) will next go south to Portland to face the Trail Blazers on Tuesday, while Seattle (0-7) flies to Orlando to challenge the Magic, also on Tuesday.
