Nets’ Carter to get MRI on bum ankle

As most of you already know, New Jersey Nets swingman Vince Carter suffered a sprained ankle very recently.? He received treatment on the ankle yesterday, and as Julian Garcia of the New York Daily News reports and Nets president Rod Thorn confirms, there appears to be no structural damage.
Despite that diagnosis, Carter will get a MRI on the ankle.? Although this appears to be an overly cautious mode the Nets are in regarding Carter’s health status, Thorn didn’t rule out the possibility of Carter playing some minutes tonight against the Charlotte Bobcats, adding, “I don’t know either way.? We’ll just have to see how he responds (to treatment).” If not for the depth at Carter’s position, the Nets would possibly be in “panic mode”.
