Magic Make Sonics Disappear Orlando Wins 103-76
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The Seattle SuperSonics trailed their hosts the Orlando Magic 28-14 after one quarter, that would be about as close as they got the rest of the evening. Orlando just mugged Seattle Tuesday night by a score of 103-76, Seattle has now started the NBA season at 0-8. The dubious mark is the worst start the team has ever gone through, the previous worst was o-6 set back in 1969-1970.
Former Sonics forward Rashard Lewis who was traded to Orlando during the off-season led the attack on his former team. Lewis had 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, leading four the five Magic starters in double figures, Trevor Ariza came off the bench and scored 11. Dwight Howard had a game high 12 rebounds for Orlando.
Only two Seattle starters scored in double figures, center Nick Collison had 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and Kevin Durant had 10 points, 1 rebound.? Jeff Green scored 12 points,7 rebounds, 1 assist from off the?bench. Seattle is a team that won a total of 31 games last season. they no longer have?Lewis, or Ray Allen who they traded to Boston.?After Seattle owner Clay Bennett made the announcement that it is just a matter of time before the Sonics move to Oklahoma City, he lost what little fan support was left for the team. It is going to be one long sad season for the SuperSonics.
