The Dallas Mavericks shot horribly (35%) from the field, but guard Jason Terry was once again the hero for the Mavericks. Terry scored 12 points in an important Dallas rally in the third quarter, enabling the Mavericks to beat the Philadelphia 76ers 99-84 at Dallas.
Philadelphia led at halftime 50-43, but Dallas rallied, scoring 11 of their first 16 points off fastbreak opportunities; in addition, Terry scored a pair of 3-pointers during a 23-11 run which put Dallas ahead 66-61. Terry’s 3-pointer early in the 4th quarter capped a 8-2 Dallsa run, putting the Mavericks ahead to stay 84-70.
Dallas was led by - you guessed it - Jason Terry as he scored 25 points. F Dirk Nowitski added 21 and 12 rebounds, while G Josh Howard chipped in 18. Philadelphia’s high scorer was center Samuel Dalembert with 18 points; G Willie Green poured in 16 while F Andre Iguodala contributed 15 and 12 rebounds. Dallas (5-2) plays again on Thursday when they host the San Antonio Spurs, while Philadelphia (2-5) go east to take on the resurgent New Orleans Hornets.
