I know it’s instinctual, Autumn+ Sunday=NFL. But for you B-Ball Fanatics the NBA has arranged a nice slate of games tor you on this Sunday.

Maybe the most intriguing game of the week will take place at 6:00 pm EST, as the Orlando Magic try to end the Boston Celtics 8-0 run to start the NBA season. Orlando has been having themselves a great year as they lead the Southeast division with an 8-2 record. The combination of Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu, have been monstrous. Many NBA observers, thought Turkoglu would be come superfluous, when Orlando acquired a player with similar skills in Lewis. However since Rashard came over from Seattle the two have become an awesome starting tandem complimenting each other’s skill-set.?Howard may be right now the best pure center in the NBA outside of Yao Ming, and he has taken it to another level so far this year.

The Celtics will suffer their first loss of the Season if they play Orlando the way they played Miami Friday night. Boston by all rights, should be 7-1, but Miami does not have their act together enough yet to keep it together for the win. Boston can not afford to take off most of a quarter Sunday night against Orlando, as they did against the Heat. Do so guys, and be prepared to lose against a strong Magic team. The one factor in Boston’s favor, although Orlando is 6-0 on the road they are only 2-2 at home.

Although not as strong as either Boston, or Orlando, the Detroit Pistons have come back nicely from their ignominious exit from the Post Season last year. Tayshaun, Chauncey, and Rip are all having super years. And most surprisingly Rasheed Wallace is playing the good soldier?so far. They are in Sacramento take on the Kings who are at 3-6 under Reggie Theus their rookie head coach. Detroit leads the Central Division with a 6-3 mark.

And two teams that have been associated together an awful lot in the rumour mill take each other on, on the hardwood Sunday night. The Chicago Bulls head to the Staples Center to face the Lakers. Unless you have been living under a rock, there has been all sorts of speculation, that Kobe Bryant could be heading to Chi-Town in a deal involving, any or all of these three players. Kirk Hinrich, Ben Gordon and Luol?Deng. If the Lakers get their way these three players would come LA in exchange for Bryant. Unfortunately it leaves Chicago in a smoking hole, with Bryant, Ben Wallace, who seems to be on the down side and Joe Smith, who has been around the NBA since they brought in the shot clock. Chicago would be insane to make this trade. Hopefully, for Bulls’ fan’s sake?the name Paxson and bad General Manager only pertained in Jim’s case not John’s.
