The Washington Post reported Wednesday that Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas will miss the next three months after undergoing surgery Wednesday. Arenas once again underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, an operation he had done last April forcing him to miss the NBA Playoffs.

Arenas told reporters that he tore the meniscus again last Friday night as the Wizards played the Minnesota Timberwolves. However he is not specifically sure at what point of the game the injury happened. He stated that after the game he was racked with pain. The loss of Arenas comes to a crushing blow to the Wizards, who along with Caron Butler, and Antawn Jamison are the teams core. Arenas will not be allowed to participate in any basketball related activity for the next three weeks. The reports state that doctors could give him clearance to practice in 3 months.
