?Thc Chicago Bulls are most definitely a team with issues.? It is speculative to say if the Kobe Bryant rumors or the contracts of Ben Gordon and Luol Deng have had an effect on the team’s lackluster play, but tonight was a continuation of a recurring theme in Chicago: poor shooting.? The Denver Nuggets had no such problem tonight; they shot 50% from the field as they dominated the Bulls 112-91 at Denver.? Tonight’s loss by the Bulls puts them at 2-8, their worst start since 2004-05, when they started 0-9.
Denver, as they have been doing lately on their current homestand, put this game out of reach early.? They led by 11 after the first quarter, but after Chicago guard Chris Duhon’s 3-pointer and forward Joe Smith’s jumper cut the Nuggets’ lead to 36-32, Denver poured it on from that point, especially in the 3rd quarter when they increased their lead to 94-69.
Denver had 5 players in double-digits, led by F Carmelo Anthony with 26 points, with G Allen Iverson adding 22.? F Kenyon Martin, in 22 minutes of playing time, chipped in 13 and 8 rebounds.? Chicago’s starting lineup?accounted for only 38 points; their leading scorer was reserve F/C Joakim Noah with 16 points with?guards Kirk Hinrich and rookie Thomas Gardner adding 14 each.? Center Ben Wallace chipped in 6 points with 12 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.? Denver (8-3), winners of 6 straight, look to make it 7 when they fly to Los?Angeles to challenge the Clippers on Wednesday night.? Chicago (2-8) look to erase their 2-game losing streak when they fly east to New York to take on the Knicks on Saturday.
