???????????????????????????????????????????

Golden State Warriors forward Stephen Jackson (1) drives past New York Knicks forward Quentin Richardson (23) during the second half of the Golden State Warriors-New York Knicks game, played Tuesday night. Golden State defeated New York 108-82.

?New York Knicks fans, some of the most loyal in the NBA, apparently had seen enough.? Their “patience of Job” did not pay off tonight, as a combination of poor shooting and plentiful turnovers for the most part doomed the Knicks as they were blown out of Madison Square Garden by the Golden State Warriors 108-82.

Golden State’s lead was 11 in the first quarter, while shooting 55% from the floor.? But New York narrowed the lead to 47-43 on forward Zach Randolph’s 3-point-play with 4:20 left in the first half, but continued sloppy play in the closing minutes allowed Golden State to pull away. Warriors F Stephen Jackson’s 3-pointer made the lead 58-47 with 1:02 left, and the expected boos rained onto the MSG floor as the Knicks faced a 13-point deficit.

New York couldn’t make any sort of run in the 2nd half against the NBA’s worst defensive team and couldn’t get closer than 13 the rest of the way.? Golden State’s leading scorer was?point guard?Baron Davis, who torched Knicks guard Stephon Marbury with 31 points, including 4-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc.? Jackson added 23 with 6 rebounds and 7 assists, while swingman Mickael Pietrus chipped in with 16.? Golden State improved their defense tonight, as well by stealing the ball 17 times; Pietrus had 4, which was one more than the entire Knicks team combined.? Golden State (3-6) takes a short journey north to face the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night, while New York (2-8) look to break their losing streak when they go to Detroit to face the Pistons, also on Wednesday.
