San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker put on quite a show as his team spanked the Orlando Magic Wednesday night 128-110. Parker scored 32 points, and had 9 assists, as the Spurs won their third straight game. They have started out the season 7-0, at home. The win also snapped a five game winning streak for Orlando who previously were 7-0 on the road.
Orlando actually led this contest at the end of the first quarter 34-30, and 64-59 at the half. But it was a different story in the second half as the Spurs outscored the Magic 69-46 to win the game in a rout. Four other San Antonio players scored in double figures led by sixth man Manu Ginobili who had 27 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. Tim Duncan had 20 points, 16 rebounds 5 assists, Brent Barry had a hot night coming off the bench as he scored 19 points, going 5-6 from beyond the arc! And Michael Finley had 11 points, for San Antonio with 3 boards and 2 assists.
NBA observers are going to run out of superlatives very shortly when describing Orlando center’s Dwight Howard game. Howard again was a monster a game high 34 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and 1 steal. He shot 14-19 from the field, but he had a poor night at the line going only 6-12. All five Magic starters scored in double figures, with Hedo Turkoglu scoring 26, 5 rebounds, 5 assists. Jameer Nelson had 15 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds and both Rashard Lewis and Keith Bogans scored 12 Lewis added 6 boards. San Antonio is now 10-2 after the win while Orlando is 10-3.
