Clippers Face Choppy Waters And Get Burned By Suns 113-94
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Friday night the Los Angeles Clippers led the Phoenix Suns 27-22 at the and of the first quarter, and 52-51 at the half. But Phoenix made some adjustments at the half and came back to sink the Clippers 113-94. With the win Phoenix is now tied with their best start in team history at 11-2. They first reached the mark during the 1980-1981 campaign and then hit it again back in the 2004-2005 season.
Amare Stoudemire put any thoughts to rest that he was still be bothered by that balky knee that had troubled him earlier in the month. Stoudemire had a game high 29 points, 11 rebounds , and 2 steals. Shawn Marion had 21 points, a game high 17 rebounds, and 5 steals. Steve Nash had just his typical night at the office, scoring 20 points and dishing off 10 assists, and Grant Hill continued his comeback tour scoring 19 points, with 5 boards ,and 3 assists.
The Clippers have been without Elton Brand all season and were without Corey Maggette, and Shaun Livingston in this game. Still when your point guard in this case Sam Cassell has 26 points, and 0 assists you won’t win too many contests. Ruben Patterson came off the bench scoring 18,and had 11 rebounds, starting center Chris?Kaman scored 17, grabbed 14 boards, and had 4 assists, and Tim Thomas scored 11, with 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. The Clippers fall to 6-5, while Phoenix has a chance to break the record Monday as they face Golden State.
