Hedo A Great Job As Magic Pummel Heat 125-99
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
There was lots of speculation that when the Orlando Magic acquired forward Rashad Lewis this off-season?after he left Seattle for free agency, that forward Hedo Turkoglu would probably soon be trade to another team. Many observers thought that since Lewis and Turkoglu had similar skill-sets??that Hedo would soon be history. Certainly they couldn’t play together in the same starting lineup,?could they?
Well both players are still with the team, and yes both start for Orlando. On Saturday night Turkoglu had a monster game as the Magic pummeled the Miami Heat 125-99. Turkoglu scored 27 points shooting 9-16 from the field, and 5-7 from outside the arc, as well as going 4-6 from the line. And what about Rashad? All he did was score 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.? Center Dwight Howard had 17 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals,?and 1 blocked shot, Kenyon Dooling also had 17 off the bench for Orlando. Point guard Jameer Nelson also had a good night for the Magic with 12 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds.
One night after beating the Houston Rockets, the Heat were never in this contest.?And the difference was basically Howard versus Shaq. A night after having a game where he looked like Shaq-Diesel again against Houston center Yao Ming, O’Neal had a nice game but not a dominant game.?Shaq scored 20 points, but grabbed only 6 rebounds, and had just 1 assist. You are not going to beat a team like Orlando when O’Neal has a game like that. D-Wade however showed he is back scoring 32 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Ricky Davis was the only other Miami player in double figures with 23. Orlando is now 12-3 while Miami is just 3-10.
