Friday night the Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in a rout, 107-94. Saturday night the Celts showed they could win the close ones also, as guard Ray Allen sunk a three point shot that just beat the buzzer, and put Boston on top of the Charlotte Bobcats in a nail biter 96-95.

This game was nip and tuck all night long as there were 20 times the two teams were tied, and the lead changed hands 30 times! This Charlotte team in spite of the fact that they have a below .500 record, and having lost their last 3 games are a scrappy bunch with a nice nucleus. Playing in the second game of a back to back after losing to Orlando Friday night, this team never quit. Veteran guard Jason Richardson who came to Charlotte in a draft night trade with Golden State was the game’s leading scorer with 25 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists. Point guard Raymond Felton scored 18, and had 9  assists, 4 rebounds, Emeka Okafor had a good game scoring 15, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots. Starting forward Jared Dudley scored in double figures also with 11 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists.

Boston was led in the scoring department by Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce who both scored 23 points apiece. K.G. had yest another double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocked shots, and 2 steals. Pierce had 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. Ray Allen who scored the winning shot, had 14 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and James Posey had another good night off the bench for Boston scoring 14 as well. Boston now has a league best record of 11-1, while Charlotte is 6-7.
