James, Parker selected as NBA Players Of The Week

The NBA announced that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and San Antonio point guard Tony Parker have been selected as the NBA Players Of the Week. James earned the Eastern Conference nod after compiling a league-best 36.5 PPG, 9.5 RPG and 8.5 APG. He had scored 30 or more points in each of the four games and had consecutive triple-doubles – a feat that hasn’t been achieved since April 2004.

Parker earned the Western Conference award, averaging 26.5 PPG, 3 RPG and 8.3 APG. OTher players of note who were nominated: Dallas’ Devin Harris, Golden State’s Baron Davis, Indiana’s Jamaal Tinsley, Milwaukee’s Michael Redd, New Jersey’s Richard Jefferson, Orlando’s Dwight Howard, Phoenix’s Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire, Toronto’s Chris Bosh and Washington’s Antawn Jamison.
