The Denver Nuggets announced on Wednesday that they have waived journeyman guard Mike Wilks. Denver signed the free agent to a contract late last month, and he played coming off the bench in 8 games. Wilks played a little over 15 minutes per game, averaging 3 points, 1.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 0.6 steals per game. His shooting percentage was a bit over 43% from the field and 40% from outside the arc in his limited minutes. Wilks now in his sixth season  in the NBA, has a lot of stops along the way. The former Rice guard started in the league in the 2002-2003 season, in which he debuted with the Atlanta Hawks but finished with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Wilks played in Houston the following year, and then spent the next season with the San Antonio Spurs. Wilks then started out playing for Cleveland in the 2005-2006 campaign but was traded to Seattle where he also played last season. He has averaged, 2.5 points, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 rebounds through his career. The Nuggets have a record of 9-6, 1 game behind Utah in the NBA’s Northwest Division.
