Lakers Extend Coach Jackson’s Contract

The best-paid coach in pro sports just got richer. According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson and the team have come to terms to a two-year contract extension. Jackson met with Lakers owner Jerry Buss on Wednesday and informed him of his decision; Jackson will get a raise from his current 3-year, $30 million contract. With the raise, his salary should average between $11-12 million per season. Jackson has a 927-399 record, which includes a 8 year-record of 382-206 as the Lakers coach.
