Smush Involved In Controversy In Miami
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Miami Heat backup point guard Smush Parker was not at practice on Thursday, and will not travel with the team due to an alleged altercation with a parking lot attendant. Miami police say that Parker was involved with an argument Tuesday morning with a parking attendant. The report states that Parker and the attendant were embroiled in an argument over a 12 dollar parking ticket at a condominium. Parker did not play with the team Tuesday night as they faced the Bobcats. Thursday Heat head coach Pat Riley issued the following statement: “We are currently investigating the reported incident. Until we have concluded it, Smush will not be with the team. He has not been suspended and is currently on our inactive list. This is a legal matter and we will have no further comment until the legal process runs its course.” According to police Parker has not been charged with any crime. Parker first came into the NBA during the 2002-2003 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. I spent a lot of time with him that year in pregame interviews, as well as post-game interviews. Parker was one of the nicest, most mild mannered, friendliest athletes this reporter has ever worked with. Unless Parker has developed demons over the past five years, my instincts say this is much ado about nothing.

I personally don’t know Smush Parker, but I live at Miami One @ 355 Biscayne Blvd where the altercation occured. Let me tell you, we have the nastiest valet parking in the whole of Miami. I have lived in several other condominiums but this place is one of a kind. I am an owner of a CL55 AMG and one morning I noticed that my car’s mirrors, radio and other stuff was all weird. THe following day I put the mileage at 0 miles and when I later picked up the car it had been driven 2 miles. (It takes about less than a 1/8 of mile to park the car) On top of that, it had a minor scratch on the rear fander. Ever since then I bought a garage space from my friend to avoid the valet. I will have to agree with the author that it is definetely not Parker’s fault. Don’t even think about pulling up in an average car there cause they will flat out disrespect you (seen it many times).
PS: I have been fortunate enough to see Dwayne Wade and Chris Quinn a lot in the lobby of Miami One.
