Tony Parker scored 27 points as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Portland Trail Blazers 100-79, but it was a costly victory, as the Spurs lost All-Star Tim Duncan to an?injury in the second quarter. Duncan collided with Blazers forward James Jones and injured his right knee and ankle. The big man had to be assisted off the court, the Spurs said after the game that they expect him to miss some action but they have not determined how long. The team also said that there appears to be no structural damage, but that Duncan would undergo a MRI Monday. Duncan had played 11 minutes in the game and scored 2 points.

Spurs dominated this game from the start leading after the first quarter by 6 points, and they had a 51-38 lead at the half. Parker shot 11-15 from the field, 1-2 from outside the arc, and 4-6 from the line, to go along with a game high 8 assists, and 4 rebounds. Brent Barry had a big game off the bench shooting 5-7 from the field, hit 3-5 treys, and a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe for 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists.?Manu Ginobili scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and Bruce Bowen and Jacques Vaughn each scored 10 points for the Spurs.

Martell Webster, and Travis Outlaw each scored 17 to lead Portland while Outlaw had a game high 11 rebounds. The only other Portland player?to score in double figures was James Jones with 10 points. Portland falls to 5-12, they travel to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies Monday. San Antonio is now 15-3, they are off until Wednesday?when they host the Dallas Mavericks.
