Utah Jazz forward-center Mehmet Okur (13), launches a three-point shot against the Miami Heat during the fourth quarter of the game, played Monday night. Okur scored 25 points, including four 3-pointers, as Utah defeated Miami 110-101.

The Utah Jazz, for a change, had a different go-to guy Monday night – center Mehmet Okur. Okur presented a macthup problem as his matchup opponent was Miami Heat center Shaquille O’Neal. But Okur presents an advantage – he shoots 3-pointers, meaning that O’Neal isn’t going to the 3-point arc. Okur took advantage of that, making four 3-pointers which enabled the Jazz to defeat the Miami Heat 110-101 at Energy Solutions Arena Monday night. Thanks to Miami guard Dwyane Wade’s 14 first-half points, the Heat led by as many as 8 points early and shot 60% from the floor to lead the Jazz 53-52 at halftime. Fast forward to the fourth quarter; Miami’s Ricky Davis made 2 free throws to cut Utah’s lead to 94-92 with 3:44 left in the game, but the Jazz went on a 9-2 run to ice the game for Utah, capped by a 3-pointer by Okur.

Utah had 5 players in double-figures; of those, 3 scored at least 24 points, led by Okur with 25 points, including four 3-pointers. Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer scored 24 each; Boozer also grabbed 15 rebounds while Williams dished out 15 assists. Andrei Kirilenko scored 10, but also had 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Miami had 6 in double figures, led by Wade with 26 points and 10 assists. Jason Williams and Ricky Davis added 15 each, while O’Neal in 22 minutes scored 12. Utah (13-5) travels to Sacramento to take on the Kings Tuesday night while Miami (4-13) travels to the Northwest to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.
