Houston Rockets guard-forward Tracy McGrady (1) goes up for two points against Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Miller on his way to his third career triple-double in the first half of their game, played Wednesday night. Houston beat Memphis 105-92.

Houston Rockets swingman Tracy McGrady had to get one eventually - a triple-double, that is. But it wouldn’t be easy as he hit only three of his first 15 shots. But as his pattern, McGrady would warm up to the task as he and center Yao Ming carried the Rockets to a 105-92 win over the Memphis Grizzlies at the Toyota Center.The Rockets held a commanding 13-point lead at halftime 55-42; Memphis would come back to get to within 7 at one point in the third quarter. But McGrady warmed up by scoring 7 points, while Ming added 13 of his own to pad the Rockets lead to 85-71. Memphis wouldn’t mount any serious challenges after that run. Houston had 5 players in double-figures, led by Ming and Bonzi Wells with 24 points each; Ming would also grab 13 rebounds and block 4 shots. McGrady added the aforementioned triple-double, scoring 17 while grabbing 10 boards and dishing out 12 assists. Luis Scola would come off the bench to chip in 16.

Memphis was led by Pau Gasol with 23 points and 12 rebounds; Damon Stoudemire added 19 while Rudy Gay contributed 17 and 10 boards in a losing effort. Houston (10-9) travels to New Jersey to take on the Nets Friday night, while Memphis (6-12) travels east to challenge the New Orleans Hornets, also on Friday.
