The San Antonio Express News reported Friday that it was unlikely that San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan would be ready to play for Friday night’s game against the Utah Jazz.  Duncan did practice with the team on Thursday but Spurs coach Greg Popovich told reporters that he wanted to give his All-Star forward another day to rest his balky right ankle. Duncan missed Wednesday night’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, because of the injury. Point guard Tony Parker who has a sprained ankle of his own did not participate in practice on Thursday. Sixth man Manu Ginobili who scored 37 points in Wednesday’s win also got his left hand banged up, and also did not participate in practice. Both Parker, and Ginobili are expected to start in the game against Utah. It will be Ginobili’s second start of the season, the first one was Wednesday night.
