Celtics Run Past Bulls 92-81

Five Boston Celtics players scored in double figures, and the team shot 51.6% from the floor as they defeated the Chicago Bulls Saturday night 92-81. Boston held Chicago to a less than stellar 36% from the floor and hit only 3-16 treys, as Boston now sports a league best 17-2 record.
This game was basically over after the first half, Chicago kept it close in the first period, as Boston led 21-18 after the quarter, and led only 47-43 at the half. And although the Celtics never got an overwhelming lead, Chicago never really could get close enough as they were down 10 points at the end of the third 69-59.
Boston was led in scoring by Ray Allen but the guy who was really behind this victory, was the Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo. Rondo scored a season high 18 points,7 rebounds, 5 assists, and just 1 turnover, as he played over 42 minutes. Kevin Garnett had 16 points, 9 rebounds, 7 blocked shots, and 3 assists, James Posey scored 11 points, off the bench with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot, and Paul Pierce scored 10 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals. Glen “Big Baby” Davis scored 8 points, a team high 12 boards, and 1 steal.
Chicago also had 5 players in double figures, led by Andres Nocioni, who scored 18 points off the bench, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist. Kirk Hinrich scored 16 points, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 steals, Luol Deng scored 15, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, Ben Gordon scored 13 points, with 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 blocked shot. Veteran Joe Smith had 10 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, and Ben Wallace scored 8 points, and had a game high 14 rebounds. Chicago now falls to 6-12 after the loss.
