Chauncey Billups scored 20 points, Antonio McDyess scored 19, and Richard Hamilton added 18 points, and the Detroit Pistons demolished the Charlotte Bobcats Sunday 104-85. The Bobcats who beat the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday night, as they were without LeBron James, were never really in this game, as Detroit dominated from the first period on.

The Pistons led after one quarter 30-16, and although Charlotte cut lead a little to trail at the half 56-45, the Bobcats could never get on an even playing field. The Bobcats did get the lead down to just 5 points early in the third quarter, down only 57-52. But that’s when the Pistons got it into gear running off a 24-10 spurt, and Charlotte was never a threat the rest of the night.

Billups shot 5-8 from the floor, 9-10 from the line to get his game high 20 points, a team high 6 assists, and 2 rebounds. McDyess had a game high 9 rebounds, with his 19 points, 2 blocked shots, 1 steal, while Hamilton along with his 18 points, had 4 boards, 3 assists. Jason Maxiell scored 11 points off the bench, 7 rebounds, 2 blocked shots, 1 steal.

Charlotte was led by Jason Richardson, who shot 5-12 from the field, 3-6 from outside the arc, and 2-2 from the line for a team high 15 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Emeka Okafor scored 14 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot, Raymond Felton scored 12 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound, and Walter Herrmann came off the bench scoring 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals. Veteran guard Derek Anderson came off the bench to lead the Bobcats in assists, and rebounds, with 7 assists, 5 boards, and 4 points. With the win Detroit now has a record of 14-6, Charlotte is now 7-12.
