MSG Saturday night was filled with the usual assortment of “boo birds” as the New York Knicks lost to the Philadelphia 76ers. But the cries from the Knicks faithful to “Fire Isiah” were disregarded by team owner James Dolan. In fact according to the Associated Press an unnamed Knicks source, allegedly close to Dolan, said that the Knicks owner went right to Thomas after the game and told “Zeke” his job as coach is secure. Thomas would not discuss his meeting with the Knicks owner with reporters on Sunday other than to say he has ownership’s support. The season started off on a controversial note, as MSG, Dolan, and Thomas were found guilty of sexually harassing a former Knicks female executive. The season, grew even more controversial, when Thomas and starting point guard Stephon Marbury was demoted to the bench. Marbury missed the next game, he said with Thomas’ permission, Thomas would not comment publicly on the incident. Within days Marbury was back as the starter. New York has started out the campaign with a record of 6-13, last in the Atlantic Division, 11 games behind the division leading Boston Celtics.
