Gordon, Deng On Fire; Bulls Trample SuperSonics 123-96
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Main

Tonight’s game between the Seattle SuperSonics and Chicago Bulls technically was a basketball game; but it seemed to resemble a Road Runner cartoon. The Bulls, as the Road Runner (Road Runners?) ran the Sonics all over the place; the Sonics were not unlike Wile E. Coyote as they couldn’t keep up with Chicago and they crashed and burned along the way. Long story short - Chicago shot 53.7% from the floor, enabling the Bulls to trample the SuperSonics 123-96 at the United Center Tuesday night.Seattle would lead the first quarter 31-27, but Chicago would go into halftime with a 67-49 lead, thanks to outscoring the Sonics by 14 in the second quarter. From that point on, it was all Chicago. Chicago’s leading scorer was Ben Gordon with 27, 5 rebounds and 6 assists; Luol Deng added 20 while Joe Smith pitched in with 19. Kirk Hinrich had a decnt outing as well as he scored 15 with 6 rebounds and 8 assists.
Seattle was led by rookie Kevin Durant with 16 points, while Wally Szczerbiak and rarely-used Mickael Gelabale added 12 apiece. Chicago (7-12) makes the short trip down I-65 South to Indianapolis to take on the Indiana Pacers Wednesday, while Seattle (5-17) travels east to take on the New York Knicks - also on Wednesday.
