The Miami Heat announced Wednesday that they have signed NBDL forward Luke Jackson to a contract for the balance of the season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In order to make room for Jackson on the roster the Heat have requested waivers on veteran Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, who was attempting a comeback after being out of the NBA since November of 2005. Jackson originally a first round pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers saw his career derailed in Cleveland due to back problems, which kept him on the injured list for extended periods of time. Jackson spent last year having stints with the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Toronto Raptors. Toronto cut Jackson at the end of training camp and signed on with NBDL team the Idaho Stampede. No word on whether Hardaway would like to pursue his comeback with another team, or if any other team is interested in him. Orlando signed Hardaway as a?free agent last Summer.
