DeShawn Stevenson scored 26 points Thursday night, as all the Washington Wizards starters scored in double figures, and sent the Miami crowd unhappy as they defeated the Heat 104-91. The 26 points is a season high for the veteran?guard now playing in his eighth NBA season and second with the Wizards.?He shot 8-15 from the floor, 6-12 from outside the arc, and went a perfect 4-4 from the line.
Washington basically controlled the game from the end of the first quarter on?leading at the end of the period 28-16. Miami was able to shave off 2 points, to have it a 59-49 game at the half but the Wizards got the 2 back by the end of the third leading 82-70 heading in to the final quarter. The Heat were able to get the lead as low as 7 points 3 times in the fourth, but could never get any closer. Miami has the worst home court record this season in the Eastern Conference at 2-8, the only team with a worse home mark are the Minnesota Timberwolves who are 2-9.
Caron Butler was one of three Washington starters with? double-doubles scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals. Antawn Jamison scored 16 points, a game high 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocked shots, Brendan Haywood also had a double-double, 12 points, 10 boards, 1 steal, 1 blocked shot. Antonio Daniels had 11 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds for the Wizards.
Chris Quinn scored a career high 22 points for Miami coming off the bench shooting 7-13 from the floor, 6-10 treys, and 2-2 at the line with 2 assists, and 2 rebounds(wonder if he played the lottery 2222?) Udonis Haslem had a double-double for?the Heat with 19 points, 11 boards, 2 assists, D-Wade scored 17 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 blocked shot. Ricky Davis scored 16 points coming off the bench, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, Shaquille O’Neal not a factor in this game as coach Pat Riley went with a smaller lineup for large stretches of the game. O’Neal played just 26:35?with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 blocked shot. The Wizards are now 12-10, while Miami is 6-16.
