Mavericks “Terry-fying” Swat Hornets 89-80

Jason Terry scored a game high 25 points, and the Dallas Mavericks held the usually high flying Hornets, to a tepid 35.7% shooting percentage from the floor for the game and defeated New Orleans Friday 89-80. New Orleans shot 30-84 from the floor and just hit 5-19 from outside the arc. Dallas meanwhile, shot 47.3% for the game hitting 35-74, and hitting 3-8 treys.
Dallas broke out to an 11 point lead at the end of the first quarter, 24-13. And although the Hornets kept buzzing away, chipping off 4 points to make it a 7 point game going into the fourth, they just never really got over the hump. Terry shot 11-16 from the field, 3-5 from outside, the arc 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. “Old Reliable” Jerry Stackhouse, came off the bench, and scored 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocked shots. Josh Howard had a double-double, 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, Devin Harris scored 10 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal.
Chris Paul scored a team high 22 points, but had a sub-par night on assists with just 3, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Tyson Chandler had a double-double 15 points, 11 rebounds, Peja Stojakovic scored 10 points,5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Dallas?after the win is now 15-9, while New Orleans are 14-9.
