Boozer Leads Jazz to Easy Win Over SuperSonics 96-75
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Main

You know the Utah Jazz have won a relatively easy game when forward Carlos Boozer is sitting on the bench watching the end of the game. Boozer scored 21, leading the Jazz to a decisive victory over the Seattle SuperSonics 96-75 at Salt Lake City. Of course, it didn’t help Seattle any as they shot a god-awful 33% from the floor; I don’t care what team in the NBA it is - if you shoot 33%, you’re going to lose, guaranteed.Utah started out slowly, but recovered and took over the game in the second quarter. a 3-point play by Utah forward Paul Millsap gave the Jazz a 34-33 lead with 6:45 left in the first half; Utah would never give up the lead after that. Utah put the game away for good when they held the Sonics to just 1 point in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter. Utah was led by Boozer with 21 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Deron Williams and Ronnie Brewer both scored 18; Williams also dished out 10 assists. Andrei Kirilenko would add 16 with 5 blocked shots for the victorious Jazz.
Seattle’s high scorer was Wally Szczerbiak with 24 from off the bench, while Luke Ridenour added 10 in a losing effort. Utah (14-11) flies east to take on the Atlanta Hawks Monday night, while Seattle gets a few days off before they host the New Orleans Hornets Wednesday.
