Celtics Rip Raptors For Ninth Straight Win 90-77

Paul Pierce scored a game high 18 points and the Boston Celtics pushed up the defensive intensity Sunday as they beat the Toronto Raptors 90-77. The Celtics held Toronto to only 38.9% shooting from the floor for the contest, while Boston shot 49.3% for the game. The win was the ninth in a row for the men in green their longest winning streak in 14 years. Their last loss was against the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 27, only Cleveland and Orlando have beaten them this season.
Boston jumped on top early leading Toronto 27-17 after the first quarter, and then increased the lead to 50-36 at the half. The Raptors scored in the teens each quarter until the fourth the only quarter they actually won as they outscored Boston 23-19. But by then they had dug themselves a hole far too deep for them to come out of, sending the Toronto fans home with a loss.
Pierce shot 7-15 from the field, 4-6 from the line, for his 18 points, with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. the “Big Ticket” Kevin Garnett scored 16 points,? 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal. Point guard Rajon Rondo again in double figures 14 points, 4 assists, 2 boards, 2 steals, Eddie House scored 11 off the bench, 2 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 blocked shot. Tony Allen again in the starting lineup as Ray Allen recovers from a balky right ankle scored 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assists, and James Posey scored 10 points off the bench, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 blocked shot.
Chris Bosh had a double-double for Toronto, scoring 17 points, a game high 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals. Bosh did not have agood?night from the?field as he made only 4-12 shots, but he was far more successful at the line where he went 9-12. Jamario Moon scored 13 points,?3 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, and Kris Humphries had another nice night coming off the bench scoring 12 points, 9 boards, 2 blocks, and 1 assist. Boston now sports a NBA best record of 20-2, while Toronto is now 14-11.
