Kobe’s 32 Gives Lakers the Battle Of The Angels Clobber Clippers 113-92

Kobe Bryant scored a game high 32 points, and the Lakers won the battle of the “City Of Angels” Sunday defeating their co-tenants the Clippers Sunday 113-92. The Lakers latest cult hero Sasha Vujacic, the previously little used guard who has made a big splash coming off the bench this season, helped build his fan base as he scored 14 points, all in the fourth quarter. The Lakers came out of the gate strong and never looked back.
The Lakers basically played garbage time after the first quarter as they jumped on the Clippers leading 29-15 as the period came to a close. The Clippers scored 29 points in the second quarter but their inner-city rivals scored 28, so the lead was only cut by one point, Lakers leading 57-44 going into the locker rooms. Clips did cut the lead to just 6 points by the end of the third quarter trailing 82-76 going into the final period. But the fourth quarter was almost a repeat of the first as the Lakers outscored them 31-16 as the Lakers won the contest with ease.
Kobe shot 11-22 from the floor, 2-6 from outside the arc, and 8-9 at the line, he also had 8 rebounds, 3 assists,?1 steal, and 1 blocked shot. Luke Walton scored 15 points, 4 rebounds 2 assists, 1 steal, Vujacic had 3 boards, 2 steals, 2 assists, with his 14 points, center Andrew Bynum also scored 14, 9 boards, 6 blocked shots, 3 assists, 1 steal. Lamar Odom scored 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal.
Clippers were led by Corey Maggette who shot 8-15 from the field, hit 2-3 treys, and went?9-12 from the line,?for 27 points, 7 rebounds, 6 steals. Center Chris Kaman had a double-double with 18 points, a?game high 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Paul Davis scored 10 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, and Dan Dickau came off the bench scoring 10, 5 assists, 2 boards in the loss. Lakers are now 14-9, while the Clippers have the same record only inverted, 9-14.
