Six Pistons Score In Double-Digits, Blow Out Warriors 109-87

Tayshaun Prince scored 23 points to lead the Detroit Pistons over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Give the nasty weather an assist; besides the elements outside, the Detroit Pistons took advantage of an ill-prepared Golden State Warriors club that just couldn’t get it together, shooting only 42% from the floor. A combination of those factors enabled the Pistons to handily defeat the Warriors 109-87 at Detroit Sunday.The first quarter was uneventful with Detroit holding a slim 23-22 lead; the Pistons took over with a 28-5 which took up most of the second quarter. Detroit forward Jason Maxiell scored the first 5 points and Tayshaun Prince later had 9 points in just over two minutes. Golden State rallied somewhat, scoring 32 points in the 3rd quarter, but it wasn’t enough. Detroit took an 87-67 lead going into the 4th quarter, but the Warriors wouldn’t get any closer than 19 the rest of the way.

Detroit had 6 players in double-digits, led by Prince with 23 points; Chauncey Billups added 19, while Antonio McDyess contributed 14 and 11 rebounds. Golden State was led by Matt Barnes with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists; Stephen Jackson had a subpar game, scoring 13. Detroit (17-7) travels east to Boston to take on the Celtics Wednesday night, while Golden State (13-11) goes south to take on the Memphis Grizzlies Monday.
