Vujacic Leads Lakers Past The Bulls 103-91

He’s become the new cult hero of Los Angeles the new millennium’s version of Kurt Rambis without the glasses. Who you ask? Well you are either an East Coast fan that goes to bed early, or you’ve been living under a rock as Sasha Vujacic has taken the “City Of Angels” by storm! For those of you are still in the dark, the Serbian native is now in his fourth season in the NBA all with the Lakers and has come up big off the bench for Los Angeles this season. Vujacic led the Lakers Tuesday night with 19 points, as they defeated the Bulls 103-91.
Los Angeles jumped out to a 6 point lead at the end of the first quarter, 21-15, and even though Chicago scored 30 points in the second quarter they still trailed the Lakers at the half 49-45. Chicago stayed close in the third quarter, as L.A. led 73-68 going into the final period. But Los Angeles scored 30 in the fourth and left the Bulls in the dust.
Vujacic led six Los Angeles players in double figures, as he shot 6-10 from the floor, 2-3 from outside the arc, and 5-5 from the line, with 3 assists, 2 rebounds. Kobe Bryant had a tough night connecting, shooting 7-19 but had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists, 1 block, Lamar Odom has a double-double, scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal. Center Andrew Bynum also had a double-double, 12 points, 10 boards, 4 blocks, 3 assists, Luke Walton also scored 12 with 5 assists, 1 rebound. Derek Fisher scored 10 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal in the win.
The problem all season for Chicago is their three stars getting in sync, Tuesday was no exception. Luol Deng, and Kirk Hinrich came up big while Ben Gordon just kind of disappeared. Deng scored a game high 26 points, 7 boards, 2 assists, 1 block, Hinrich scored 17 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block. Gordon, a mere 8 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound, and what in the world has happened to Ben Wallace? Ben you could score 2 points as a starting center when you were cleaning the glass, grabbing double digits in boards, but 2 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal don’t cut it big guy, perhaps Dumars knew something that John Paxson did not. Andres Nocioni, and Tyrus Thomas both had nice nights off the bench, Nocioni with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and Thomas scoring 10, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals. The Lakers are now 15-9, while the Bulls are 8-14.
