Celtics Slaughter Bulls 107-82

Paul Pierce led six Boston Celtics players in double figures Friday night as they took out their frustrations over the end of their perfect streak at home Wednesday night, taking the Chicago Bulls?to task 107-82. I’m not sure?if the Bulls knew they were heading into the slaughterhouse in Boston AKA the “New Garden”, but they must have figured it out pretty quickly once the game started. Perhaps, the Chicago Bulls of Jordan, Pippen, and Grant could have competed with Boston Friday night. However the current edition,was taken out of the contest very early on.

Boston saw their 12-0 start at home come to an end on Wednesday night as Chauncey Billups, and the Detroit Pistons, beat them 87-85. The Celtics showed in their body language and facial expressions early on, that the Bulls would have a tough night ahead of them. ?Boston jumped out to a 26-19 lead after the first quarter, they led by as much as 22 points during the first half before Chicago climbed? some what back into the game at the half trailing 56-41. Pierce got in a zone in a portion of the?third as he hit 3 treys, and 3 shots from the line to put Boston ahead 84-61. The fourth period was extended garbage time, as every active player on Boston’s bench with the exception of Gabe Pruitt (that 1 day holdout continues to haunt him in Boston) saw playing time.

Pierce shot 6-11 from the floor, 4-6 from outside the arc, and 6-6 at the line for his game high 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Ray Allen scored 18 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds. Three Celtics players scored 12 points each Kevin Garnett, 7 boards, 5 assists, 4 steals, Kendrick Perkins, 4?rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal, and Tony Allen, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 assists. James Posey scored 11 points off the bench, with 4 rebounds for Boston.

The Bulls were led by Ben Gordon who shot 5-12 from the floor, hit 2-4 treys, and 7-8 from the?line for 19 points, and 2 steals.
