Dirk Nowitzki scored a game high 30 points, as the Dallas Mavericks put it?into overdrive in the second quarter and never looked back easily defeating the Los?Angeles Clippers Friday 113-89 . It was the fifth win in a row for Dallas, and the third straight?game that Nowitzki has scored at least?30 points. It was also the ninth this season that Los Angeles was held to under 90 points in this campaign which has just passed the quarter mark.

The game went back and forth in the first?half as the contest was tied 16 times and the?lead changed hands, 23 times. Dallas led 23-22 at the end of the first quarter, but got hot near the end of the half walking into the locker room with a 54-42 lead. The Clippers were able to cut the lead down to 10 by the end of the third, as the Mavericks led 73-63,?but Dallas picked it up a notch on both end of the floor in the final quarter.

Nowitzki shot 11-17?from the floor, hit 1-3?treys, and shot 7-7 at the line for his 30 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists. Point?guard Devin Harris scored 21 points, 2?assists, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, Josh Howard 15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists. Jason Terry coming back off the bench for Dallas, scored 14 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and “Old Reliable” Jerry Stackhouse scored 10 points, 2 blocks, 2 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal.

Chris Kaman has hand some standout games for the Clippers this season, this?one was one of the?best. Kaman had a double-double 24 points, a game high 19 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal. Cuttino Mobley was the only other Los Angeles player to score in double figures with 13 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal. Dallas is now 19-9, while the Clippers fall?to 9-16.
