They are now officially all coming out of the wood work, or in the words of the Late Great Jimmy Durante “Every Body Wants To Get Into The Act!” The Boston Globe is now reporting, that no sooner had former NBA point guard Gary Payton expressed interest in joining the Boston Celtics, than another former NBA point guard threw his hat in the ring. Massachusetts native Travis Best now playing over in Italy according to the paper, also wants to?be the backup point guard for Boston.

Best who name plays for Italian League team Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna, said he would love to be a member of the Celtics. Best has not played in the NBA since 2005, he previously had played for Indiana, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, and New Jersey from 1995-2005. Best says he still can play in the NBA, he had wanted to be part of Boston’s training camp but things did not work out. Best says his experience in the NBA Playoffs and the NBA Finals would be a huge asset for the Celtics. Boston does currently have 2 roster spots available. There has been no word whether Nate “Tiny” Archibald has contacted the team about playing.
