Bobcats Coach Vincent Welcomes Jordan’s Presence

??????????????????????????????????????? Charlotte Bobcats managing partner Michael Jordan

Most teams have something that gives them incentive to perform better on a game-to-game basis.? But the Charlotte Bobcats have something different that should at least prod the team to better performances:?team?managing partner?Michael Jordan.? Team head coach Sam Vincent has stated, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, that he wouldn’t mind having Jordan’s presence on a regular basis coming down from his suite and sitting courtside at the team’s home games.

It is a pretty good idea; however, it presents a unique set of problems:?being followed around being the basketball icon that he is, and any showing of emotions would be for public consumption at home games.? Yet, if his presence makes the team perform better, then hey - so be it.? Perhaps an indication of the short-term improvement of the Bobcats is the fact that Jordan practiced with the team early last week and since then, they have won 2 of their past 3 games.

The Bobcats, being a relatively new team, cannot do any worse with Jordan’s presence.? He alone isn’t going to make the team automatic playoff contenders at all; they’re 2 years at least from that lofty stratusphere.? But Jordan’s presence is a start, and the team - for the short-term at least - is better off for it.
