Heat’s Williams Perturbed By Trade Rumors

One cannot accuse Miami Heat point guard Jason Williams of biting his tongue, especially in regards to rumors about possibly getting traded.? Williams told Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that “The thing about it is how it affects your family.”? The thing about trading Williams is this: the trading deadline is less than two months away and Williams is making $8.9 million this season - a large amount of money for a suitor to pay for a marginal starting point guard whose skill set isn’t much different than say…Damon Stoudemire of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Another tidbit that I find interesting coming from Williams: “We’re like some high-paid prostitutes anyway in this league.? They just use and get rid of us whenever they want.”? And Williams, for whatever reason, feels he is being scapegoated.? My advice to Williams is this: First of all, it is a privilege and not a right to play professional basketball in the NBA.? Secondly, you knew coming into this league that the NBA is a business, not a not-for-profit charity.? If you get traded, it is a business decision - nothing more, nothing less.

Also Jason - you make $8.9 million, which very few teams, if any, will want to take on.? You should be grateful to be able to make that kind of money - even if you do play for a team that is falling apart at the seams.? I’m sure there’s other players out there who would love to be in your position right now.? So basically you should just clam up and deal with it.

    Man your crazy Jason Williams has more natural abilty in his left pinky toe than most people have in their entire body… he is fluid and quick enought to blow by many defenders in the NBA.. Sure he has lost a step in his older age but he is a heck of a lot smarter. He needs to find a team with a run n gun mentanlaty and he will be just fine.. he is still the most gifted passer in the NBA when given the oppourtnity. So check your facts and get pimped at your own job… check in with me later in a few months when he’s running the floor for some other team
