Boozer Scores 21, Jazz Pounds Mavericks 99-90

Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer, despite foul trouble, played a big part in leading Utah to a tight 99-90 win over the Dallas Mavericks at Energy Solutions Arena Wednesday night.? Boozer proved clutch by scoring?six of the Jazz’s last 7 points, holding off a late rally by the Mavericks.

Utah led very early on 16-0 before the Mavericks’ Brandon Bass would finally make a jumper to break the ice for Dallas.? But the Mavericks would chip away and would actually take the lead just before halftime; but Utah’s Andrei Kirilenko would dunk to help the Jazz regain the lead going into the third period 47-46.? Dallas staye dfairly close, thanks to 3-pointers until Boozer made a jumper and a dunk that would Utah up for good 97-89 with 1:28 to play in the game.

Utah was led by Boozer with 21 points and 9 rebounds, while Deron Williams and Kirilenko added 16 each; Williams also contributed 7 rebounds and 12 assists.? Ronnie Brewer would pitch in with 15.? Dirk Nowitski led all?Mavericks’ scorers with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.? Devin Harris and Josh Howard added 17 each, with Howard grabbing 8 boards.? Utah (16-14) next travels to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers Friday night, while Dallas (19-10) returns home to host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.
