The Miami Heat can’t seem to keep anyone healthy, especially in the backcourt.? According to the Associated Press, Heat center Shaquille O’Neal and point guard Jason Williams have been listed as day-to-day with nagging injuries; O’Neal is battling hip problems.? O’Neal, who is also struggling with a sore thigh muscle, said he aggravated the hip problem by diving for a loose ball last Saturday against the Utah Jazz; he has played in both of Miami’s games since.
Williams’ injury appears to be a reoccurence of knee tendonitis,? an affliction he’s dealt with over several seasons.? Should Williams be unavailable for a number of games, Miami will be very shorthanded at point guard, as Chris Quinn is suffering from a sprained ankle and Smush Parker has been away from the team, due to a legal issue.? Heat coach Pat Riley intimated that should none of those 3 be available, then Daequan Cook may make his first start at point guard.
