Amare Stoudemire, and Steve Nash both had double-doubles, and the Phoenix Suns beat the Los Angeles Clippers for the second consecutive night 94-88. Los Angeles center?Chris Kaman also had a double-double for the Clippers, as Los Angeles played a competitive game for four quarters, despite being without a good number of their regular roster. The victory marked the first time this?season that Phoenix has won a game without scoring at least 100 points, it was also the first time that the Suns have won 2 games in a row, since December 7.

Phoenix certainly did not show the bounce in their step that they had on Thursday in Los Angeles. The Clippers were never really a threat in that game, as Phoenix ended up with a lopsided 108-88 win. But the toll of playing 3 games in just four nights, including Christmas was apparent on the Phoenix players.

The game started out looking much the same as the Thursday night contest, as the Suns led by 8 points after the first quarter 27-19, they had a 14 point lead during the second quarter, but the Clippers put on a run at the end of the quarter, cutting Phoenix lead to 51-47 at the half. Los Angeles actually took the lead twice by a point in the third quarter, but Phoenix still had a razor thin lead of 66-65 heading into the fourth.

Every time it looked like Phoenix was ready to take over, the Clippers climbed right back in. Los Angeles point guard Sam Cassell hit a trey to cut the Phoenix lead to 87-86, but that’s when Stoudemire took over. Amare scored a layup to make it 89-86 and then hit a “J” to put the Suns up 91-86.

Stoudemire shot 12-15 from the floor, 4-8 from the line, for his game high 28 points, he also had 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist. The Grant Hill Comeback Tour is still going well as the veteran scored 22 points, 8 assists, 3 blocks, 1 rebound. Shawn Marion scored 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal, 1 assist, and Steve Nash scored 10 points, had 10 assists, and grabbed 6 boards.

Kaman led the Clippers?as he shot 9-22 from the floor, 4-6 from the line, for a team high 22 points, an amazing 20 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 assist. Cassell scored?21 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, Corey Maggette had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 1 block. Cuttino Mobley also scored 13 for the Clippers, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, and veteran Brevin Knight scored 10 points off the bench, 4 boards, 3 steals, 1 block. Phoenix now has a record of 21-9, while the Clippers are now 9-19.

The game tuned out to be a sad news for the Clippers fans. However, Chris Kaman prove once again that he can take a step in leading the team, sadly Kaman is not enough to win the game.
