Stephon Marbury was back playing for the New York Knicks Wednesday night after missing 10-13 games following the death of his father Donald last month. Marbury had tried rejoining the team several times last month, but he could not keep focused enough on basketball, and thought if he played he would be a detriment to the team. Marbury came off the bench in the Wednesday?contest scoring 16 points, but it was not enough as New York lost their first game of 2008, as the Sacramento Kings came into MSG and beat the Knicks 107-97. New York also had Jamal Crawford back in the starting lineup, who missed Sunday’s loss the Chicago Bulls, due to a bruised hand. Both Eddy Curry and Zack Randolph?were back in the starting lineup for New York as head coach Isiah Thomas, broke up the tandem in the last two games?Curry played off the bench on Sunday, Randolph played off the bench the game before. New York now has a record of 8-22 after the loss mired in last place in the NBA Atlantic Division 19 games behind division leaders the Boston Celtics.
